Woah. It's 2016 already?

So.... like..... The last time I blogged was on Apr 12, 2013. That is almost 3 years?! Woah, time flies!

If anyone is even reading this, hi. I'm just blogging because I felt like doing so and it would be really interesting to read this in another few years time :) Let's get started!

Let's see, the only topic I feel strong (enough) to blog about would probably be my travels. Ever since I graduated from SP last year in May, I've been traveling (quite a lot). Well, I definitely did not plan to do that as post-graduation but somehow, it just happened.

The countries I've visited ever since I graduated are:

1. Taiwan 2x (March - with my family, May - with my group of friends at Omakase Burger)
2. Cambodia in July
3. Phuket in October
4. Hong Kong, also in October
5. Japan in November
6. Australia in January (2016)

Looking back at it, I've no idea how I manage to fund all my travels by myself.... Because, well, I'm only working part-time at a burger shop and for some events here and there. Oh, and I was also terrible at saving prior to this. Basically, I had 0 savings. So, as the saying goes, "If you want it, work for it." So. True. It was traveling that taught me how to save up, but ironically also sucked my bank dry.

Traveling to so many different countries, I have learnt a lot, seen a lot and ate a lot (like duh). Interacting with the locals and getting lost in the beautiful countries would have to be my favourites. Not forgetting what made my trips super memorable - my travel buddies! Some I've known from work, some I've known since my Sec school period, some (to be specific, 2) I've never even met before (we literally met at the airport on the day of departure!), some friends I never imagined I would be traveling with.

Because of traveling, I have come to cherish spending time with my family. I remember every time I told mama Sim that I am going overseas, she would ask me how long I would be gone for, and she always tells me to not go for so long as she would miss me! Yes and sorry, I am the type of person who would book my flight tickets before letting my family know. Oops.

And since it's only March (we're not too late into this year yet I hope).... I have 2 (sort of) travel resolutions for 2016! Here's to a good year ahead!

1. Travel with my family. More specifically, bring them on a trip once a year!
Time flies. I do not know how much time I have with my parents. It may sound quite pessimistic of me to say this, but my dad is 60 yo this year... and he's still working so hard for our family. Sometimes he (and mostly my mum) would complain of aches here and there, and seeing how their joints ache so badly, to the extent of not being able to go down a flight of steps, just breaks my heart. And it makes me feel really unfilial :( I love you mum and dad..... :') I am going to bring you overseas once a year for sure!

2. Embark on a backpacking trip.
(Most probably will not be accomplishing this in 2016, but I decided to do this this year!)
No idea where, no idea when. But I am definitely going to do this! Maybe I will do it alone, maybe I will have travel buddies? I don't know. I only live my life once (sounds very cliche, I know) so I better have the most fun out of it before I settle down, right?
