Birthdays......

Wello hello, regardless if you're older, younger or as old as me, you definitely would have celebrated birthdays. Yours, your friend's and your family member's.

For me, after celebrating so many people's birthdays, I have only realized that birthdays have lost its meaning. Just think about it... when your birthday is nearing, what do you think about first? The presents/surprises you will get or just purely enjoying the day with your friends? I am not gonna lie, my answer would definitely be the presents and surprises I'm gonna get. BUT, I am changing my perspective from this year onwards.

Whenever my friend's birthday is nearing, the first thing I panic about is: WHAT TO GET HER/HIM?!?! And honestly, I end up not buying anything for them because time passes too damn fast and I can't make up a decision. Well..... it's kind of good actually isn't it? If you don't buy a present for them, they won't need to buy you a present either!! This way, you can save the number of brain cells that dies just to think what present you should get for the other party. HOWEVER, I only will get the other party a present if I know what he/she wants/needs. Simple enough. OR, if someone else proposes to split the cost of the present together. Even better hehehehe.

Next, surprises. Surprises are getting kind of boring while we grow older and older because they either get used over and over again or we just see through all the plans because we've grown smarter. Again, think about all the dead brain cells caused by all the thinking. Planning a surprise definitely ISN'T easy AT ALL. If a surprise is done similarly before, it's not creative anymore. Right??? Imagine if it's you, you do 2 similar surprises. Not fun right? Think about all the trouble you'll need to go through, waking up extra early to prepare the stuff, managing different conversations and worrying whether the plan will go accordingly. However, well done surprises are REALLY fun.

Come to think of it, for my past birthdays, what makes me happiest is not the presents and cakes I've received (though some are really nice). It's actually the letters your close friends write to you. Omg hahaha I'm such an old person. Just a random thought..... boys dont write letters to each other right?? Boooo what a boring life for them. I REALLY REALLY REALLY enjoy reading those sweet and touching birthday messages. There's always gonna be the 'remember when we first met.......' and 'ahhhh fond memories' part. BOOM, all your past fond memories all coming alive in your brain :,-) I really LOVE reading those letters.

Now that I'm getting older, I just wish for a birthday celebration in which all my close friends can sit together and have a meal happily and just chit chat about our lives. Such happiness, however, cannot be even achieved so easily. Everyone's getting busy with their lives.... Having new bunch of friends.... Not having enough money.... And all the other excuses... Sigh :-( It's so hard just to get all the close friends together, isn't it. Anyone feel my pain here?? (hoping someone would say: yes I do I do!!)

Well, from now onwards, I am going to make time for all my close friends, be it the current or old ones. I WILL make time for them. After all, when you are in trouble or feeling down, your friends are the ones pulling you up. Go chat with an old friend, go plan for your next friend's birthday :-) Goodnight folks!
